Goodbye 2012…

Great Keppel Island Queensland

It was a beautiful day for sailing to the Whitsunday islands. We drove to Rockhampton, then Yeppoon as this is where the boats go to the islands from. It is the main ferry town for Whitsunday Holidays We parked at Rosyln Bay where the yacht was moored. From here it was a rubber dinghy toContinue reading “Great Keppel Island Queensland”

Gladstone Queensland

I traveled to Gladstone by plane. It cost me $161 one way with Qantas. The lady on the air train paid $61 with Virgin. The passenger sitting next to me paid $71 also with Qantas. Obviously one has to search the web thoroughly to get a cheap fare…. It was the day before Christmas. IContinue reading “Gladstone Queensland”

Curlews on Lamb Island

http://www.australiazoo.com.au/our-animals/amazing-animals/birds/?bird=stone-curlews&animal=bush_stone-curlew The bush curlew who live at Lamb island seem to defy some of the descriptions I am reading online when looking for information to add here. It was just mud, but now has beenContinue reading “Morning with the Mangroves at The Point”

Sunrise at Lamb Island

I love the sunrises. The only problem with sunrises is that you have to rise at 4.30am to get to the best viewing location as currently the sunrise starts at 4.45am and continues until about 5.25 am. I missed taking photos of the magnificent sunrise of the 15th December, but I did see it inContinue reading “Sunrise at Lamb Island”
