Russell Island Beach

I wanted to see the beach at Russell Island where I am now living.

It was quite a long drive for an island, about 10 kms, to the top of the Island where the passage is, called Outlook Point

Here there is a small area of sand with a reserve on one side with some children Equipment, public toilets and a very nice picnic area.

Ahead is Stradbroke Island, Karragarra Island is to the left and  Kibbinkibbinwa Point, also on Russell is to the right.

We drove to the right and there is a reserve, a ramp and parking area for a boat, and then a very quiet area of bush and trees that you can drive through to get to the Point and the main road up a very steep road. There are some very nice homes in this quite area.

It was quiet. There is one house opposite the beach, and the rest is open land.

Across the water there are two mooring bays for yachts and boats. They look peaceful and very beautiful.

This is not quite the Gold Coast, even though you can see across to the Gold Coast on a fine day, but it is a very special spot on the island.

Most of the water is mangroves, mud and rocks like all the islands here, so to find a small area of soft sand is very nice. There are many small crabs here from the amount of crab holes in the sand, and it also a good fishing area.
