Clark’s Point is named after early oysterman Edwin Clarke, who worked his oyster beds
This is a quiet beach with a small Children’s Park and the Lions Facilities. There has been a recent move to permit Camping here…with a view to attract boats and paddlers who frequent this area. The toilet and the park make this attractive as well as the fishing, but the mosquitoes and midges are too welcoming at the sunrise and sunset times.
It is the only sandy area on Russell island, apart from small private beaches and the area around the public swimming enclosure and the jetty.
Sandy Beach is great for walking the dog..
As you can see Wally loved Sandy Beach
