Hervey Bay Econolodge…Fraser Gateway Hotel

After leaving Childers, I went to Burrum Heads where I visited Hillcrest..the caravan park I used to live at.

Then on to Hervey Bay. It had tried to rain, and the heat and the humidity was starting to overcome me. I did a web search for somewhere to stay and relax and was able to get one night here.    http://frasergateway.com.au/

Hesitantly I drove to the Motel, and asked if I could get the room I had booked online 30 minutes ago, a bit earlier and to my delight, I was given a room immediately. Immediately i had a shower and a coffee and started to feel like my usual person.

Main entrance

Its open, clean, friendly, welcoming and has a restaurant and breakfast to the room.

The best part is the Hotel is handy to almost everything you can want..food, supermarkets, shopping, take away food, the beach is down the road, and its located at the roundabout where Hungry Jacks and Bunnings is..a short way down.

I intend to stay here every time I need accommodation at Hervey bay in future..

Hoping to do a tour to Fraser Island tomorrow to see the wreck…will have to stay another night here if I do…

  1. Happy New year Maggie, I have made time to catch up with some computer work today. at the moment I am making a calendar for this year of family members. I am now hear of department at IGA fruit and veg. less demanding compared to previous jobs. I see you are following your keen interest in photography. I have entered some comps. 2013 was a busy year for art and photo comps but 2014 I started work full time and that cut into my time. all the family are well. Kids have moved on to their own lives. we are getting older but the grass is dead here as most of Australia. just dry again. when are people going to realize it is a dry country and the rain should not be relied on so heavily. I made a photo quilt for my sister’s 50th birthday and a few items with photos printed on fabric. my garden is looking great even though the heat is very hard on it. I am waiting for the shed to be rebuilt so as to move the plants back to their cooler spots. John is busy at Peter Shaw & Co and cutting back on expenses due to the tight times. I enjoy following your travels. thank you Jenny Turner
