Set in lush green Tweed valley is Tropical Fruit World. Here tourists can taste and enjoy a huge selection of tropical fruits. At 80 years of age, Bob Brinsmead is a man who always has and still does want more from his tropical fruit farm. He moved to the region as a 12-year-old and has called this property home since the early 70s.

Nestled between the glitz of the Gold Coast and serenity of Mount Warning, his Tweed Coast farm is more than your average orchard. Originally a small fruit plantation and government research station, Bob and his wife Valerie started to farm avocados as they grew their own family.
See taste and learn about fruit from around the World that’s all grown in one unique place. Visit the plantation to discover more than 500 varieties of the world’s weird and wonderful exotic fruits. Located just 10 minutes from the Gold Coast Airport and 10 minutes from the beaches
A fully stocked shop sells many items made from fruits, and tourist miscellaneous good, with a tasting table where visitors can taste the products on sale. I enjoyed some lemon myrtle tea and tasted macadamia nut butters and some preserved figs which were delightful. Friendly staff are happy to smile and assist you, and a restaurant serves some delectable looking meals with an emphasis on freshness and Australian meals.
Tours are available of the property for $40 and $35 concession, and I think you also have to pay for tasting the fruit. Fruit tasting only occurs at set times. We walked down to the Tasting shed along a path lined with different fruit trees all labelled. Its a very smooth and professional farm these days, and well worth a visit.
Good job! Tell us a lot of new fruits I ever seen before! How are you lately dear????
