Oooconcoon Bay was named for the swans that used to live here before the days of water ferries and jetskis and noisy motor boats.

Migratory Black swans are back on Russell Island
There used to be huge numbers of Black swans in Redland Bay. Ooncooncoon Bay was named after the Black swans that used to live here..
Anzac Moon
ANZAC (Australian and New Zealand Army Corps) Day is the anniversary of the landing of troops from Australia and New Zealand on the Gallipoli Peninsula, Turkey, in World War I on April 25, 1915. The bravery of all military personnel who participated in this campaign and the lives of those who died in all military actions are remembered.

Koalas on Stradbroke Island
Dunwich at Stradbroke Island, has a resident koala that lives in the tree above the Bus Stop.
Manly Queensland
Manly Boat Harbour is now the largest boat harbour facility in the Southern Hemisphere, with over 3,000 dry standings and wet berths, plus two public boat ramps (one at each end of the harbour).
A number of boating clubs are based in Manly including the Royal Queensland Yacht Squadron, the Wynnum Manly Yacht Club, the Moreton Bay Trailer Boat Club, and the Darling Point Sailing Squadron (which shares space with the Multi-Hull Club of Australia, and the charity for handicapped people known as Sailability).
Russell Island
Russell is a short 15 minute express water taxi ride from Redland Bay or as the locals call it “around the world “ trip if you include the other islands within the Southern Moreton Bay region.
