Wherever I have been, whatever I have done, returning home is always a marvellous experience. I love returning to the Islands I call home, and the best part is sitting in my van on the vehicle ferry looking out over the waters at this amazing scenery of blue water and thinking, “This is where I live. This is my home”

When I travel, I sleep in my van which is wonderful on hot summer nights when there is a soft breeze and the cicadas sing their song, but this time it was cold and raining with clouds, and after overnighting with rain and damp, to be going home in sunshine over the water is an unbelievably beautiful experience. Whatever happened before I hit Redland Bay Marina flies away and every time, and I have lived on the islands now for 8 years, I feel this exhilarating joy at going home on such a beautiful final drive, going home to my island. This time to make the experience even better the ferry was almost empty, so it was like having my own private vehicle transport too. I felt free to walk around and just drink in the beauty of the Moreton Bay and its islands.
Today the sea was like melted glass, pure and untouched, the waves from the ferry making the only motion, Everything was silent and still, even the wind was not making a sound as the ferry made its way safely back to the Islands, stopping first at Macleay, then Lamb and finally only 2 cars were left to drive off at Russell island.

East or West, some place in this our world now, home is not the best place to live, but still the one to think about! You are a happy women then, hope you have all the best at your home island!
