Situated in the historic woolstore buildings, close to cafes, restaurants, theatres and shopping in Teneriffe, New Farm and the city, these trendy apartment buildings offers all the benefits of inner city living.
In 2003, Meridien refurbished the old iconic wool stores into unique contemporary 1, 2 and 3 bedroom apartments
There is a lift and staircase that leads from the main entrance to a central Foyer that originally was the storage room for Wool. The building stretches upward with apartments around a central opening. All apartments do not have windows, only one set of high windows and the timber beams are the original wooden beams from the Woolstore and still has a faint odour of lanolin on warm days. http://www.saratogaapartments.com.au/woolstores/ansonia-woolstore/

Located at 64 Macquarie Street in Teneriffe, Ansonia woolstore apartments are luxury living at it’s best.
Refurbished in 2003 by Meridien, this old woolstore houses 83 unique contemporary 1, 2 and 3 bedroom apartments.
The architectural design captures and maximises the natural light in hallways and individual apartments, whilst the original timber floors add character and charm along with the high ceilings.
The building was the original Wool Store from where Wool was stored, auctioned ,sold and delivered to all the companies needing wool for clothing, carpets, furniture and materials. Australia rode on the back of the sheep between the wars when almost everything possible was made from wool. The Military used wool for all its uniforms, and the wool trade boomed and blossomed until synthetics started creeping in and took over the wool causing the Wool to lose its importance.
The location right on the water also meant it was on the main transport route for Australian and International and these photos of a photo show the location of the Woolstore and shows why it assumed such prominence.
